GW snow - any good? Empty

Pretty much what the title suggests!

I am about to start basing my ogres and was thinking about adding some snow patches to the bases. Has anyone used GW snow to any great effect? Even better, does anyone have any pictures?

Many thanks for any help/advice you can give.

Cheers
Adam

Hi mate, I used the snow flock on my Eldar, you need to either make sure you have a light surface to put the flock over otherwise the colour of the base will show through underneath or you need to apply it in layers, (obviously making sure each layer is dry).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that mate. My bases are black with codex grey and then fortress grey drybrush. Guess that will probably be too dark and not sure I want to be doing multiple layers.

Think I maay go for the static grass option insteas, cheers for the advice!

Hey Ad, use bicarbonate soda, water and pva glue. Mix the soda with a small amount of water until you get a gritty paste then add some pva and again mix together. Use a few cocktail sticks or old brushes to apply it to the base. once applied use the cocktail sticks to bring a few lumps up and down for a real slow effect.

You will probably mix too much on first attempt so be ready to base 5 or more models.

There is a more indept guide on coolminiornot.com forum/guide section but trying it yourself is best practice.
