Hello peoples

Just trying to drum up some interest for the creation of a blood bowl league within the club

Would anyone be interested? It could be either informal or formal with prizes etc

There are a couple of people who have shown a passing interest so i wondered what numbers we were talking about to see if it would be worthwhile

Cheers

The "Red Anvils" are benched at the moment and looking fat. Give me some notice to retrain their beardy arses and they'll be game fitness lol

I would be interested but have limited time and likely even less time in the future to play. But i will be able to play a few games. But the new rules are more balanced. And if people are looking to play it, we will get the living rulebook printed out and have it placed into a folder.

That way there can be no arguements. Smile

Plus the new rules are fairer and better hehe.

Ok so there is some good interest so far

Well i can announce the arrival of the Squig Strangler Select a team of Orky misfits who love nothing better than to stove in heads and score the occasional touchdown (if they remember they are playing a game).

yes definatly the living rulebook to accomodate the races not represented in the original rulebook and as the rules are better.

Getting it printed off and kept at the club would be a great advantage.

Firstly was thinking of a fun league of about 6 people playin against each other once so five games a team. This is a good number to get some players advanced enough to enjoy the benefits of upgrading players but not too long as to end up uncompleted. If this works out then we will see about creating a proper league within the club with trophies etc. and possibly run a cup competition throughout if enough players sign up.

How does this sound?

Ok

Sounds like we have some numbers to get going on with. To clarify we have

Andi Avery- Orcs
Ed Matson - Dark Eves
Antony Lye- Dark Elves
James Lye - Dwarfs
Guy Ringham - Norse
Tom Byrne- Dark Elves
James Tregale-?

Unfortunatly I am not around this week or the next but will be planning the small league and then looking ahead to the big proper league should this work out.

One thing that needs to be sorted out is that games ie round 1, round 2 etc need to be totally completed before the next round as any player upgrades (after 2-3 games) would make playing a team who has played only 1 game a bit unfair. yes i know there are induecments to help the weaker side but it would make the running of the league smoother if everyone could be on the same game number as each game comes up.
regarding this what do we think a fair timescale to get each game sorted would be? 2 Weeks? this way people can intersperse games they usually play in between bb macthes.

Potentially if everyone plays on the same night and finish in good time, maybe 2 matches can be played in one night? (not very likely i know)

feedback would be appreciated folks.

Mike- are there any bb pitches at the club? And can we get those rules printed out please. I have a pitch and i think Owen may have hundreds!

Hi,

I have had a dig around and have my blood bowl pitch but I've lost all of the balls but i'm sure you could make one from greenstuff. I also have the deathzone add on if thats of any use?

I'd be pretty interested too, at one point I had a norse team but it's possible they've been misplaced/destroyed. Time for some digging or to build a new one.

Ok so how are people fixed for the first official bloodbowl round on thursday 11th Nov.

This gives anyone who wants to play 2 weeks to build/beg/borrow/buy a team to enter.

Whatever happens ill be there with my orcs to throttle my opponents with.

It would be helpful however to have a list of players who can make this night so i can start on the league table

Cheers

The Black Ark Bastards INC are digging out their finest dwarf skin running shoes and will be practicing kicking the heads off captured Empire knights (strong necks).

Not played in a year or so but i will be keen for some refresher games and then a league. I cant play until after the 20th of November though.

Ps. As Edd mentioned any links to a living rule book would be great. Any one interested in Blood Bowl can easily convert a team from one or two GW plastic race boxes.

Here is a link to the living rulebook

http://www.bloodbowlonline.com/LivingRulebook5.pdf

It is a massive tome of 60 odd pages but worry not as a lot is filler fluff, extra special rules, special characters and other weird stuff. The game mechanics are generally the same with a few tweaks here and there and just reading the first few pages will see you right for a few 'friendly' games. The first league is all a friendly league anyway so dosnt really matter when people join. It would just be good to get into the swing of playing in that format.

Ok gents

This thursday sees the start of the blodbowl mayhem at the club. Very much looking forward to some stompings.

In terms of logistics we need boards and rules.

I personally have a board and a limited printout of the living rulebook so thats one sorted.

Can we confirm who will be playing on thursday and who has the rules and a board we can use please.

Cheers guys
