| Thanks James.
Ok, we now have 19 players so far, would love to get to 20 just to neaten things up.
Mind you, 24 would be perfect...
Spoke to Ed Matson on Thursday hopefully he'll be going for it with his Chaos Marines... | |

| Closing date for army notification is THIS THURSDAY. Anybody other than the people who have either told me in person or have put on the forum that haven't notified me what they're using will not be allowed to take part! (you know who you are!) This is a bit harsh I know but I'm trying to avoid any sudden last minute changes to the running of the tournament. Thanks. | |

| Sorry - do you want lists this week, or just the gentle but definite reassurance that my poor old Guardsmen will in fact be dying en masse for The Cause? | |

Hey Chris! Main restrictions are on the 1st page. Rules-wise the games are multiple objective games, victory pts will be used to sort out any draws. All the tables will be set up by me (apart from mine which, like last year will be set up by Ant). Once the tables are set, they can only be changed if both players agree, & then I want to ok any changes. Objectives will be placed by me & CANNOT BE MOVED!! If I find that they have been moved then the game will be stopped, the objectives moved back & you will have to start the game from scratch. Bear in mind you only have a limited time to play your game, so please don't move them... As per normal 40k rules, Infiltrating/Deep Striking/Outflanking units MUST be declared pre-game. Any units that are not declared & are not on the table will automatically be put into reserve. Also, reserve units must be declared (especially in a Dawn of War game). Phew! Here's looking forward to a mad tournament!

| Just to clarify that after your game you need to make a note of your victory point & also your kill point totals. Even though the games are multiple objectives, victory point totals will be used to determine who goes through as best runners-up as because of the random number of players that will be left we won't have 8 players for the Q.Finals. Victory point totals will be used to determine who goes through to the QF only, not from the group stages as the group winner & 2nd place automatically go through. Kill point totals will be used to see who gets the 'Bloodthirster Award' so, regardless of your results, the player who has 'killed' the most units throughout the tournament will win a cash prize to spend on what they want from Ant. Thanks. | |

| Ok. We now have the maximum amount of players that we're going to get! Final reminder for players to bring a spare copy of their army list along with the £2.00 entry fee. This thread will now be temporarily locked until tomorrow to stop any last minute entries sneaking in & mucking the tourney up! Thanks. | |

| **********************IMPORTANT NEWS***************************
Due to things going on with the pub the 40k tournament has been put back 1 week to Thursday the 7th of July.
Apologies for the sudden change in the date, but only found out tonight from Ant about the pub.
Army lists & the £2.00 entry fee still need to be handed in next week please.
The draw for the group stages will be made next Thursday as there is no danger in lists being changed at the last minute as I will have them!
Sorry once again guys.
Thanks.

| Quick update on the 'Bloodthirster Award'. Kill point totals will be counted from the start of the tournament (group stages) to (& including) the Semi-Final. Also, this award is only for anybody who finishes outside the top three, as they're already getting a nice shiny trophy to keep it's only fair to give it to someone else. So, even if you don't end up with a trophy you might end up with a prize. P.s The entry fee is now £2.50, sorry for the late notification, just found out the trophies were dearer than I was first told. Sorry! Thanks again. | |

So, with a few more games done we have some early contenders emerging.
Andy & Elliot are through, Steve is in a good position atm but could still be pipped for 1st place by Guy.
It's all to play for in Group 5 with Lee & James tied, but Lee has one more game to go but Chris is in with a shout of winning the group still.
Group 2 is stupidly close but we should have a clearer picture depending on the result of Chris' game vs Ed on Thursday.
Monday night update: Jake's Daemon army defeated Guy's Grey Knights, that means Steve has won the group.
Jake will come 2nd unless Max's Imperial Guard can defeat Steve's Eldar.

| Just an update on how the tournament's going so far. Andy & Elliot are through with group one completed. Orlando is leading group two after his 3 games but could still be pipped for 1st by either Chris, Ryan or Ed. Jason is in a good position in group three with 7 points, only James Tregale can beat him to the number 1 spot. 2nd place is still up for grabs. Group four has also been completed with Steve & Jake through. Group five is ridiculously close, with Lee, James Terrell & Chris King all on 4 points! All the group games will (hopefully) be done by next Thursday. The 2nd round games will be starting the week after once all the six highest non-qualifiers have been finalised. Also, can I just say thanks again to everybody in the tournament for their patience in waiting to play some of their games with people being away with holidays & work commitments. 2nd round games will be a straight knockout with 5 objectives & Spearhead deployment. Thanks again. | |

| Hey guys!
Just an update from tonight's games.
Max's Guard defeated Mark's Grey Knights.
Andy's Guard defeated Chris King's Guard.
Jake & Steve's game wasn't played tonight so will be settled next week, as will Elliot's game with Guy.
In case you're wondering, Ed Matson has had to pull out & so is replaced by Guy's Grey Knights.
The Semi Final draw was done tonight & is as follows:
Andy will play Max. (yes, it's Guard vs Guard - AGAIN!!)
Steve or Jake will play Elliot or Guy.
The game will be 5 objectives, placed as normal by the players, deployment will be Pitched Battle but the 1st turn will be Night-Fighting.
If there is a draw, then Victory Points will be used to determine the winner.
Thanks. | |
