| Just like to say a BIG thank-you to all the people who played in the Apocalypse game today, especially the guys from Dice & Dagger who made long train journeys just to play. Also, thank you to Orlando & Lee for providing the scenery for the city ruins & Ant for helping to sort out the Epic Goal system for the various objectives. Also to Kellie for making notes on the game which will be used as a summary on the game in the near future along with loads of pics. This topic is for people to comment on how they thought the game went & make suggestions for future Apocalypse games so we can iron out the few problems that came up in the game. Am looking forward to see what people have to say. Thanks. Jay. | |

| - less people next time so more points per person
- don't use strategic assets
- set up closer to each other
- keep the epic goal idea (was awesome)

| was an awesome day really enjoyed it
i agree with everything ed said tho think one or two assets should be kept like orbital bombardment, one thing that could be done is the person running the game could pick assets for each team that fit with the story behind the game.
two assets that definately should be scrapped are flank march and stratigic redeployment as 6000 pts of orks hitting the same flank at the same time made sure the good guys were on the back foot for the whole game and didnt really leave thier deployment zone.
this also made it hard for the other players in the evil side to get involved in the game as they had to move normally up a 16 ft board and moving maximum 12inches a turn ment they only just reached the middle of the table by the end of the game.

| Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Will take on board what people have to say- both good & bad. I almost did the bonus pts thing, but dropped it last minute, will definitely will incorperate it next time. Will limit the assets as well plus maybe give people individual missions. Also, might change the table layout so that people aren't so far apart, mind you, had the game not stalled in turn 2 they're would have been more action in the city, which was the point. At the end of the game there were units in the middle of the table, its just they were small units fighting individual combats - not the mass combat I was hoping for. I might limit the players each side have, but increase the pts for each player. Plus I might have limited flyers as well, just to mix things up a bit! Another possibility is having multiple tables, but have each table able to affect other tables. What do you think? | |

| Very good day Recon you lost 1 game turn due to the fact turn 1 only started at 1.30pm
Think it would be wise to nominate one member from each team to act as an other all Force Commander giving members of his/her team goals to achieve.
Don’t think it necessary to remove all strategic assets maybe reducing it two, liked the idea of having the asset linked to the game.
The deployment area need looking at and if possible increased from 12” to 24” I liked the epic objectives .
think the game would work with 6 aside, don’t think its a good idea to have a further 3000pts as a reserve team under the command of one player as it ties that person down making the turn longer

| I enjoyed the day a lot- it was fun to see that many points on the table.
However starting so far apart seemed a bit crazy to me. One of my units had a range of 72" and was out of range of anything the entire game.
I'd have liked to start 12" apart along the longer edge of the table- perhaps even with a diagonal no man's land.
Matt suggested scrapping flank march and strategic redeployment- that was our only option of getting into combat and putting the imperial's on the back foot. If we'd advanced in an orderly fashion towards that gun line- we'd have been mince meat before our guns came into range. My subjugator, for example, has a max range of 4", as did my land raiders.
In hindsight we should have deployed two players up there instead of one
We had expected a mass imperial deep strike attack on our deployment zone- and kept about 7500 points back to hold them.
Can't wait for the next one- here's my humble suggestions for what they're worth
1. 12" no mans land 2. One overall commander per side- who assigns written orders to his generals, along with any strategic assets they may use, (These are given to him before the battle by the game planner.) 3. Epic victory rules 4. Timed turns- say 10 minutes for movement- 15 for shooting- 15 for assault (Giving you a full turn played in 1hr 20 mins and 6 turns and set up in 9 hours... 11-8pm) 5. A player from each team to call time for the other team.
I liked the large number of players, for the most part it was a great atmosphere.
Thanks again to Jay for organising it.

| A three faction game might be fun- orks, imperials and chaos... All vying for the same objectives!
Or even a four way- eldar, imperial, chaos and orks

Or even a four way- eldar, imperial, chaos and orks this could be interesting but will also cause confusion like an apocalyspe scale 4 way caombat

| Yes confusion and chaos! After consideration... I think it would probably be impossible to play- especially for the poor players who went last! They'd be lucky if they had anything left at all! | |
