This is an open invitation to all 40K players to participate in a 400 point combat patrol tournament.
Play will begin at 7:00pm and after 5 games, should be concluded by about 10:30We will be battling across a diverse range of environments and using a variety of scenario specific rules for each board.
Be prepared for dangerous scenery, unusual deployments and scenarios designed to force you to quickly adapt and alter your strategies.
Rules for the 400 point combat patrol tournament
1. Each player gets 400 points to spend on units from one codex.
The idea is that they are creating a patrol, which is tasked with scouting the area.
2. Force organisation is as follows.
1 troop choice is compulsory
You may take a maximum of 1 HQ choice.
3. No model may be selected which has more than 2 wounds.
4. No model may be selected which has a 2+ save
5. No model may be selected which has a large template or ordnance weapon (including psychic powers)
6. No special (unique) characters.
7. No vehicle with an armour value greater than 33 (front+side+rear) may be selected.
8. Mission objectives will be varied and specific to the terrain.
9. Play will take place on 3ft x 4 ft playing areas.
10. Each force must choose a single model to be the leader of the force. This must be the HQ choice if one is taken, otherwise an upgrade champion will suffice, or a nominated individual.
This must be either infantry, jump infantry, bike or jet bike.
Players will initially be drawn randomly, and after that will be matched by points. A little mixing and matching may occur to prevent players fighting the same opponent again.
Terrain will likewise be randomly drawn and efforts will be made to put gamers on tables they have not played on yet.
Points will be allocated as follows
Win: 1
Draw: 0.5
Loss: 0
Gamers will have 30 minutes to complete their games.
Each player will have 15 minutes
10 minutes is allowed between games to allow time to pair up the players for the next match.
