| Welcome to all fight fans! Here is the result of tonights Semi-Final: Orlando's Space Wolves beat Adam's Imperial Guard in a game dogged by unlucky dice rolls for Adam. Meanwhile, in an epic fight to the finish, Andy's "Resident Evil" Imperial Guard managed to fend off the mass horde army that is James' Ork Waaagh! So, the Grand final will be between Orlando's Space Wolves & Andy's Imperial Guard. The Final will be played on Thursday the 17th of June. Good luck to both players involved. | |

| Good evening one & all! Last night saw an epic clash between Andy's Imperial Guard & Orlando's Space Wolves. In a game of mad dice rolls, both good & bad luck & bodies everywhere the forces of good (if you can call Space Wolves good!) managed to fight off Andy's "Resident Evil" Imperial Guard. So, well done to Orlando for winning the tournament. If anybody who was involved in the tournament has any comments, both good & bad about how the event was run/what they would like to see in the next tournament please feel free to put it on the forum. Thanks again to everyody for taking part, am already planning the next event which hopefully will have proper trophies for the winner, 2nd & 3rd place & also maybe a best general/best sportsmanship award. Looking forward to hopefully hearing from anybody who has something to say. Thanks. Jay. | |

| Thanks Jay- a good fun tournament.
The final match was pretty bloody- as a kill points match it ran to something like
10 kills to 17!
At the end of the game I had just 3 guard and one tank out of an original
100 men and 6 tanks.
Orlando had two speeders, 7 men and 2 bust up rhinos that just wouldn't die.
Next time can we have some weird missions please?
Underground conditions or planet strike or death world...
Thanks again to Jay for organising it.

| Hi Andy. Thanks mate, I want the next event (a doubles knockout) to be a similar format, so we can get it done fairly quickly. For the next singles knockout event I'll come up with something more random. The trouble is if I have to come up with something that will suit everybody's army. As everybody would have to do the same "mission" I still need to keep it fairly simple & not over-complicate things too much so that the people involved can get their game done & not have to remember different aspects of the game they're playing. As Lee's now officially part of the events team we should be able to bang our heads together & come up with something cool. Watch this space! | |

| I'd love to play a one evening 400 points knock out tourney.
Each player has to follow a simple set of restrictions (combat patrol)
400 points Normal force organisation except you only need 1 troops choice No model with 3 or more wounds No 2+ saves No ordnance or large blast Max armour value of any vehicle is 32 (front+side+rear)
Games should last no longer than 40 minutes.
Start at 6:45- 7:30- 8:15 9:00
So we could get 4 games done in an evening.
Games all 3 objectives. Any unit can hold an objective.
8 tables... 2 of each Tunnel fighting... board divided up into tunnels and rooms (use space hulk tiles or the map used at PAW this year (Was James responsible for that?)) Jungle warfare... man eating plants Ruined city... those massive buildings I've seen in the store room No mans land... trenches, barricades, barbed wire, mine fields
16 players
Fun and different- what do you think?

| Looks good mate, might have to make it 500 pts poss.
Liking the different table ideas, be good to expand on them. Don't think the tunnel scenario would work as cheaper point armies - Orks, 'Nids etc would just get bottle-necked unless you pretty much play it as a game of S.Hulk.

| We should probably test a tunnel game or two to see whether they're fun or not.
I think it would make a refreshing change but might, as you say, frustrate horde tactics somewhat.
Although being in a confined space with 30 ork boys is not something many armies could survive.

| Was thinking about the jungle board, we could come up with a table with different results if squads try to go through difficult terrain.

| That would be cool.
The no man's land one would be fun. The central area (18", 9" from the central line) could be all craters. But each player could also add terrain to their own deployment zone.
3 pieces of barbed wire, 3 tank traps and one 6" x 12" mine field perhaps? Maybe a bunker too.
I've got an idea for the tunnel fighting game that would make it less of a nightmare for large armies.
I'll tell you about it a week on Thurs if you're there as its difficult to describe in text.
See you soon
